Hey John D,

Thank you very much for your explanation.

It sad to see how record company doesn't care about the artists and about giving pleasure to the fans...
It just about $$$ for them, not music, it's just sad...

But still, thanks you very for the production of this awesome event !!!

By the way, I enjoyed very much the pictures about your wedding at Peter Erskine's website, a lot of cool people, great !!!
I don't know when it was but congratulations.

See you around and take care.

Roger.

I'm tempted to say something here like why don't they make it a scholarship to a school that takes better care of it's drum students, but I won't

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the kind posts. Glad to offer some insight when I can and thanks for indulging me. The ADAA was near and dear to my heart; as I said, we?re all very proud of what we accomplished in honoring Steve.

A few answers:

Randy: Yeah, Vinnie doing ?Aja? would have been over the top! Maybe we'll get Steve to play a Zappa tune at Vinnie's tribute!

Roger: Kelly (my wife) and I were married in June 2001. Thanks for the congrats. In addition to Peter Erskine and his wife, some of my industry friends made the trip. Vinnie, Steve Smith, Danny Gottlieb and some local friends; Dave DiCenso and Paul Geary. Many of them know Kelly (and her dad of course). It was especially great that Armand Zildjian was able to make it. Hope to see you soon.

Shedder: James performed ?Country Road? and ?October Road?. We were hoping for both tunes, but with record company legalities and other logistics, we were only able to use the one tune. Beggars can?t be choosers Feel free to send us your promo pack. We?re always open to hearing you.

Fuse: Amen to what you said, bro. I could fill 100 websites with how I feel about Vinnie the ?person?. I think it?s great that you guys show him the respect he so rightly deserves. There?s no one like him and I?m not talking about Vinnie the drummer, which of course is another conversation. He?s just an amazing human being on so many levels.

But don?t lose sight of Rick Marotta?s part in this. His playing was incredible and he was a huge factor in holding things together, as was Jimmy Johnson.

OK ? I?ve stood on the soap box long enough! Have a great weekend and enjoy the DVD.

John

No douby Marotta sounded great, always a deep pocket and a funny guy. I love when he makes cameos on Everybody Loves Raymond, he usually plays this 'pervert in the trenchcoat' type of dude that does not speak.
